The following media credential guidelines were established to provide an
overview of the procedures followed by The Gala Company in processing media
credential requests and a clear understanding of the guidelines for media
access at event sites.
Eligibility
Each Media Member using a Credential represents that s/he is acting on a
specific assignment for a newspaper, or for a press, news or photographic
service (freelancers must be on specific assignment and submit original proof
of assignment to The Gala Company). Each Credential issued by the Gala Company
authorizes only the Media Member to use certain information gathered pursuant
to the Credential (video, audio, photo, etc.). The Gala Company may, in its
sole discretion, grant or deny Credentials, or modify these Terms. The
Credential is not transferable and may be revoked at any time.
Application Deadlines
Media credential applications must be received by The Gala Company by the
established deadlines set for each event. The Gala Company cannot guarantee
that journalists who submit their applications after the deadline will be
accommodated.
Credential Acceptance
The Gala Company encourages all media to attend The Gala Company events.
However, if there is a limitation on the number of credentials issued for a
specific event, The Gala Company will consider the following criteria, in order
of significance, when issuing approval:
• Media organizations with a large daily circulation and/or a large national
audience.
• Local media in the host city and relevant specialty media.
• Media outlets which attend The Gala Company events on a regular basis.
• Applications which are received by the deadline date.
Credential Usage
Credentials must be worn at all times. Each media credential is issued specifically
for the journalist who was accepted through the credential process. Any media
outlet that wishes to change the name(s) of their credentialed journalist(s)
may do so, in writing, prior to the beginning of an event. Credentials may not
be given or loaned to another person for any reason. Credentialed journalists
will receive free admission to the event and access to areas where media
accreditation is provided access. A media credential does not guarantee access
to closed areas such as backstage, dressing rooms and closed rehearsals. The
Gala Company is committed to providing a professional working environment for
all media.
Misuse of a Gala Company media credential will result in the immediate loss of
the credential, removal from the media areas and the possible loss of
credential privileges for future events for the journalist and his/her
organization.
Interview Policy
The Gala Company will provide opportunities for the media to interview
requested individuals.
Photographers
Photographers wishing to cover The Gala Company events must be on assignment
from a recognized news organization and be using professional camera equipment.
All photographs taken at the event are to be used solely for use by the
publication for which an individual is credentialed, unless he/she is otherwise
granted express written consent by The Gala Company. Without such consent, it
is strictly prohibited for any photograph taken in association with the event
to be used in any manner by, or in association with, any publication other than
that publication for which the individual is credentialed. Photographs taken at
this event are not to be sold to any other media outlet, organization or
individual unless permission is granted by The Gala Company. Failure to
comply with the above regulations will result in the immediate loss of
credential privileges for all future Gala Company events for the photographer.
Additionally, the media outlet listed will lose the ability to credential a
photographer at future Gala Company events.
Television Coverage and Videotaping
No camera crews other than those of The Gala Company will be allowed inside the
venue during the live pageant competition show hours. Live or taped coverage of
the pageant competition will not be permitted. Television stations or other
camera crews may not be on the event grounds at the time of the live show
without advance permission, and may not interfere in any manner with The Gala
Company filming of the event at any time.
With advance notice to The Gala Company, television news organizations may
request special access for legitimate news coverage.
Taped Footage
Requests for The Gala Company’s taped footage of the event may be requested by
contacting Jennifer Rodriguez at 310-295-4337 or
media@misscalifonrialatina.com. Depending upon the requested footage and
intended usage, costs may apply.
